Monday on my day off I recalibrated the Nav system based on info I got here. As I was test driving through town, I see a Police SUV run thru a stop sign on my right ( no lights, no siren) , then a second one. The second one didn't make it! He hit a woman in a Tundra coming through the cross traffic, she spun out crossed 3 lanes of traffic and hit my car's driver door and front fender. No air bag deployment and all I got was a cut on my left elbow. I will know by Friday the outcome. Some of you might be aware that back in April, I bought an 05 XJ8 base and it was totaled 8 minutes after I left the dealers lot! The settlement on that one allowed me to buy this Super V/8 and put a couple of grand in my pocket. Well, I'm back in the same scenario! For an all aluminum car, it appears to be magnetic! Welcome to my Jaguar world!!

 

Realley bad luck but glad you are ok.

Would you consider buying the wreck after settlement?

Fender and doors are replaceable for not a lot of money used,

but obviously there would be other work also.

 

Glad you're ok but something to ponder. You're either really tight with the good Lord, or the Lord of Darkness. Clearly one of them is anxious to see you up close and in person.

 

Have you consider buying a lotto ticket or some life insurance?

 

Maybe you need to move a "quieter" area !

 

it's official! $14,000 or more in damage! Edmunds.com says worth $13500 in my area. Paid $10,900. This is my second XJ in 3 months. I think I'll pocket the difference and book a cruise!

 

You may have left money on the table. You may be entitled to diminished valve, sales tax & rental. Worth a couple of xtra Gs. Check it out on Google

 

Thank you! I got the final figures this morning. Value $15877.27. Pay off to the bank $11400! I will also cancel the GAP insurance as well. That will reimburse me approx. $400 more. Should I buy another? take a cruise? Buy a year newer to get bluetooth? If I buy another that means I've owned 3 Jaguars in 3 1/2 months!

 

Well... the disease is serious! I'm going to look at an 05 XK8 roadster Monday. 85,000 miles, straight CARFAX. Pale blue metallic, dark blue top, Oyster interior. Less than $9000. Car is in the same town where I bought and totaled the first XJ8! I WILL NOT take the same freeway on ramp! on the way home. I will stop and get a lottery ticket though!

Absolutely not!!! I've been laughing for the last two months. Smiling as I cash the checks. I did buy the blue XJ8. Last registered here in my home town! Had to drive 60 miles to get it. So far, so good. Bought it 2500 under retail book. Its still listed on Reno NV craigslist site. Pale blue, light interior.

 

Need to find a buyer for my 84 633CSI automatic. $3800.
