Default navigation upgrade, '04 to '07 doesn't work...

So I've been using the original '04 DVD in my navigation system but started to notice a lot of errors where roads have been added, etc.. It is clearly time to upgrade the disk.

I picked up a disk on eBay, 2007-2008, for $20 and was delighted (I'm between jobs and on std right now). I inserted the disk in the system and got the message "Reading DVD please wait..." But its been reading it for several hours now, I suspect a fault. I wondered if there's a crucial update in between these two, something that prevents me economizing on an interim update.

Anyone else had this problem and care to share the grief?

Many thanks
David

My guess is you got a copy, and many times they just don't work. I had a 2005 upgraded to the 2012 disc w/o any problems whatsoever. Put your old one back in, and hope it didn't corrupt the original firmware. You could also, try it again, and say a few prayers before the next attempt.

I did the same; purchased a $20 disk that failed to load, returned it and purchased the $53 disk that is working great.

H20boy; "My guess is you got a copy"

Always tough to tell now. But looking closer I think I bought the navigation disk for the XK model rather than the XJ. If anyone wants a '07/'08 XK Navigation disk (FOC] let me know.

Thanks for the input, H20boy; you cracked the case

Sorry, it was $56, not $53. here is the link:

Got the link from a past thread on DVDs back in December.

I recently purchased a new nav disc off the internet, but it was the supplier website, not "Joe Noname" on e-Bay. I had no trouble with it and it was far cheaper than the Jaguar dealer, costing me £35 (= $55). plus postage of course.
