Default Nearly locked out of my XJ6

Hi, went to fill up with fuel got out left keys in ignition, wife was in passenger seat, started filling up, wife decided she needed something from shop so left car and went inside, finnished fueling went to go into car and it was locked??

Saving grace was wife had left window down by 4 inches.
Scared the s**t out of me as we were away from home.

Can this be disabled?

How is this possible? The last jag that I could trick to lock, was a XJ-40. Had to open back door and push lock plunger down on front door, then close back door. I have not been able to trick my last x300, or current x350.

Oh wait, this is a post about a xj-6 in a xj-8 forum. DA

Are you using the same key fob, or are you using a second one, the seat memory settings can be different depending which fob is used.
Just a thought !
