Need advice on brakes for 05 Super V8.
Hello to all,
My mechanic has told me that i will soon need to replace my rear disc and pads.
They are Brembo brakes.
What are my options for the best quality oem after market discs and pads.?
My mechanic has suggested Eurospace discs and Mintex pads.
I want quiet pads. i dont want to nickel and dime .
if you know of any on-line sites where i can purchase them it will be appreciated.
thank you in advance!

Are you a DIY guy?
If you are follow this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ice-faq-61323/
I would also recommend a four wheel brake job unless the fronts were done recently. With all due respect to all the professioanl mechanics that assist in the forum, If you do it yourself, your own labor will more than pay for the parts for all four wheels.
There is a comment regarding the difference between calipers fitted in the rear with the integrated parking brake system verses the Brembo's found on the rear of super charged models.

see post #21 regarding this issue.
While it appears that semi-metallic are the most common application for hard service they produce a lot of unsightly brake dust residue on the wheels. For that reason I prefer "Ceramic" which leave wheels very clean and provide acceptable stopping power.
I any case I would recommend flushing the entire brake system and bleeding at least twice with new brake fluid.
As for sourcing parts, I found a specialty European auto parts store locally and saved time plus shipping heavy parts. I am sure you will get alot of other brand suggestions.

Those brake items recommended by your mechanic are top drawer and worked for me.
As an alternate, try to source them thru CarQuest or Advance Auto if you can, it will save you a pant load and their house brands are plenty good. I have used them as well.
Ditto on ceramic pads as well and this from a guy it took 30 years to convince.

I stuck with genuine Brembo Textar pads, available on Amazon.com for less than half of the Jag dealer price ($60 for rear and around $100 for fronts) and rotors from Brake Performance .com about $300 for a set of 4. I also flushed the system twice using BG Super DOT fluid. All very easy work to do with basic tools.
