Need backglass for 2007 XJR
A vandal broke the back glass of my wife's 2007 XJR as it sat in the driveway overnight. No big deal, right? Get the replacement in a few days, pay twice what any other car would cost, just move on.
Well, the local Houston Jag dealer told my glass guy, after a few days, that back glass was back ordered till March, 2016! A five month wait.
Looking for help with this problem:
1) Is there any other channel to get an OEM backglass?
2) The OEM package includes the seals and other things need for the installation. Is there a way to get those seals and such separately so I can install a used back glass?
3) Any suggestions on how to find a glass guy who can install a used back glass?
I thank you in advance. Obviously, waiting till March is not an attractive solution.

Thanks, CareIm.
Indeed, there are quite a few specimens on the market. My main question: is it feasible to install a used back glass without new seals and such? I have yet to find someone who will say, 'Yes, I can do it.'
And I have not yet gotten an answer from Jaguar yet about buying a new set of seals, etc.
Thanks again.

Update -- a happy ending.
Got a used backglass and molding from a broker. The molding is key. Gotta have it and it must be in good shape to get a good installation.
Installation was by LoneStar Glass on Bissonnet in Houston. The shop did a great job helping me get the right parts and doing a perfect installation. I highly recommend LoneStar, especially their car glass boss Gilbert.
We're back on the road, everything works and looks good. What a relief!

Glad to know you're back on the road again. Lets hope the little Ned that smashed the glass gets his comeuppance; they usually do in time !
As regards the screen seals, when I bought my car, I had some "creeping lurgy" paint defects repaired, and the paintshop said the rear screen had to come out. New seals were installed as a matter of routine, so I'm puzzled about difficulty getting seals off Jaguar. Mind you this was 2010, so things maybe have got more difficult with these sort of spares.
