I am soliciting input from those with 04 -07 XJ8 Base, XJ8L, VDP or XJR.
Please include measurements ( units are inches ) for dimension A - H as depicted in the attached photo. Please include the last 6 digits of your VIN, for example, G12345 or H67890. Also please include any differences observed between front clip detail between 04 -07. One difference I noticed is 04 & some 05's have fender mounted turn indicator that reaches to the door gap, while my 06 has a small oval indicator lens mounted a few inches from the door gap. And of course there is the front parking assist and headlamp washers on the bumpers. I am more interested the physical dimension attachment of aluminum body panels and radiator support.
There seems to be conflicting info on front body panel interchange for 04 - 07 XJ8. part-cart dot com shows all 04 -07 front nose assemble is interchangeable. Some folks tell me that is wrong. When searching for the hood only, car-part specifies 06 XJ8 fitment from VIN H00322. This excludes all 04 and many 05's from fitting my 06. If the hood has specific VIN fitment requirements, why wouldn't the front clip have the same? The rad support appears to be the same for 04 -07 which is where the hood latches are located, so what the difference with the hood?
I am replacing hood, fenders, bumper, bumper rebar, grill and radiator support on my 06 XJ8 Base model VIN ...H07592
The attached photo is from 05 XJ8L front clip VIN ...G45298 with the following measurements marked up using dimensions from my 06 XJ8 Base. I am waiting on the salvage yard guy to confirm whether the measurements on the 05 XJ8L are the same as my 06 XJ8 Base.
A... width of hood under the leaper, measured corner to corner. 58 3/4"
B...length of the hood measured adjacent to the leaper... 45 3/4"
C....width of hood near windshield. corner to corner.. 63"
D...length of hood to headlight....corner to corner 51 1/8"
E...length of fender along line... 53"
F.. length of fender lower light to wheel well 12 3/4"
G... length of fender/pillar cut away 5"
H...distance from wheel well to door gap where rocker panel mates 12 3/4"
( all measurements were taken using steel tape measure, for example dimension "C" is distance from left corner of hood to right corner of the hood ( as the crow flies ) the measurement is not along the radius.
There is a surplus of 04 models and I understand, for example the 04 VDP does not have a Long wheel base, however, I need to understand whether the Long wheel base applies to front clip fitment to 06 XJ8 Base model. From the research I have done, the Long wheel base 05 -07 has longer roof section and longer rear doors and so the hood & front fenders and fender mounting infrastructure should be the same as a Base model. Is that an accurate assumption? Any additional input or guidance is much appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Judging by the Jaguar parts system there were a number of different part numbers for the hood but each one is superceded by the next so they should be interchangeable. The hood hinge part number changed at H25148 but that is after your VIN. The bumper beam also changed at H18680.
The fenders will be slightly different though because the hole for the indicator on the side is a different size for the cars with the side rubbing strips compared to yours. You may be able to work around that though as I assume you will be respraying them.
