On cargurus.com I found 8 XJRs from 2004 to 2007, mileage from 56,000 to 141,000, and priced from 8,500 to 24,000. (The guy at 24K is smoking something illegal...) Only two of those had a "price analysis," 8,499 with 141,000 miles and 15,999 with 77,000 miles, and both were marked as "high price." I don't think I'd have a problem giving 10 or 11 grand for the 77,000-mile car, but 16 thousand bucks is not realistic. 141K miles? 16 grand is WAY high!!!

I'm in the market for an X350 XJR at the moment so can offer a bit of insight based on what I've seen. Short answer - If you sell through traditional routes (online ads, Marketplace, CL, etc.) it's an $8500 car. If you want to wait a while for the right buyer maybe $10k, but that's a stretch. The Rs that you see listed high have been for sale for well over 6 months and will continue to sit, unfortunately these cars don't bring a lot of money and especially not with mileage over 75k or so.
BAT is an entirely different animal and if the car is super clean go ahead and list it there. They will push for a No Reserve Listing so you'll have to take your chances. Just depends on who's looking and if they want that specific car on that specific day. Prices can fluctuate wildly on that site but you could get lucky if someone is looking for that exact color combo.
Best of luck either way. These are fantastic cars and will likely go up in value a bit over the next few years, but right now they have never been worth less unfortunately.

.
There No longer being made, with fewer left every year.
Prices are moving up, along with the milage.
The 04 had 86,000+ miles in 2016, the 07 had 96,000+miles.in 20017
Each one sold out the door for $9,000 seems price is about the same
New ones, just do not look like, the older full size Jaguar.
Making the nice older ones hold their value, even with their higher milage.
Certain motorcycles that are still in decent shape, are the same way.

I agree, they are fantastic. But weren't they selling for much less before Covid and inflation?
But perhaps in inflation adjusted dollars, they haven't risen in resale value much.
Nice looking car! The R badges and headlights seem to indicate low sun exposure .
What color is the inside?
And now for my "BAT" comment imitation: Please post photos of the headliner. hehe

I've had my eye on an 06 XJR a couple hours away from me, but with over 100k miles and over $10k its just going to sit. Been for sale nearly 2 months now. It's not worth nearly what he's asking, but I'm interested because its the exact color combo I want. Won't bother the seller or waste his time when I know its not worth what he's asking and I refuse to low ball people. Just hoping the price drops a lot before winter if he really wants to move it. I'd much rather just pay more for a low mileage car, these are very hard to sell with mileage on them.

Craigslist can work if you want to try something simple before an auction house. Look at BAT and Cars and Bids for the kind of pictures people expect and the questions they ask. Plenty Jaguar past sales to get ideas from. Include pictures underneath the car for rust, of seat condition, headliner. Known maintenance. $8500 to $9000 if the car is in really good condition. Take the usual safety precautions. Meet at a neutral public space, maybe a cafe. Cash is always best before signing title. Require that any checks or wire transfers have cleared the bank before signing title over. Best of luck on the sale.
