Whether a proper working battery prevents voltage sags that in turn used to cause misfires or the good battery suppresses a/c ripple from the alternator that otherwise upset things or ... well, whatever ... but it's been observed many times that the cars run smoother and weird other faults go away, so you can wonder the exact reason(s) if you will - or even deny them - but it won't alter what people find does occur.

I would have thought that someone with the professed background would have a list of possible ways rather than just be a doubting Thomas.

You will no doubt be aware of the warning never to leave a modern car running and disconnect the battery.

One thing is certain. The cruise control warning light has not come on since the battery change. I am not a mechanic or engineer but wonder if the battery acts as a "buffer" to even any voltage fluctuations. I may be talking thru my a$$ but that is the only thing I can think of.

And, ChrisMills, there is no collusion. Despite the constant negative press covfefe. That about sums it up.

Hi,

Can I ask you the address of your mechanic? I seem to not find a good mechanic for my Jaguar as most of them are familiar with other european cars but not quite sure if they can handle mine.

Marotas Motors
727 Lafayette Ave
Hawthorne, NJ 07506

Phone: (973) 304-1860

If you are in a hurry, Mario is not the man for you. He has a clean workshop but limited parking so he needs to budget his time and space accordingly. He's very knowledgeable and has has been working on Jaguars since the late 70's. Even his brother worked for Jaguar most of his life. He's been good to me for the past 3 years and my go to guy for all things Jaguar. He was able to diagnose and repair the air suspension on my old MB E500 because the suspension parts are similar to Jaguar's. He is also a very nice guy. He gets both thumbs up from me.
