Default Need new hoses, where should I purchase?

Good morning,

Just got the new to me 2005 XJR home to Colorado. I will post some pictures and events of the trip from LA to Denver in another thread.

Looking to replace the coolant hoses and other hoses mine are very soft and thin. Is there a diagram or parts list in the forum with what I will need, I couldn't find one.

What good sources for hoses have you used?

Thanks,
Griff

p.s. I have many questions now about tweaking the car so I will be posting a lot of remedial question

I just did most of mine including the "valley hose". I shopped around on Ebay and bought mine from 5-6 different vendors including Gaudin Jaguar, Terry's Jaguar, Jaguar Landrover Columbia,Engel Imports, and Rusnak.

I found significant pricing differences on the same product from different vendors I lost out on shipping charges but not enough to worry me when considering the overall savings.

You will see parts diagrams on-line from most of these vendors.

Thanks Jackra, I have been following your posts, it looks like we have the same car. I will check out those vendors.

I found Welsh Enterprises, their prices don't seem to be too bad. The Service person Amy, did a nice thing for me. She emailed me a diagram and indicated what hoses I would need.

I just called a dealership, they priced an upper radiator hose at $154.25 and it will take 4 days to get it.

That is one of the more expensive hoses.

It does look as if we have the same model/year car.

Mine has 106,000 on it now bought it at 99,000. It had a single owner, a woman attorney who seems to have had it well maintained.

The hoses I replaced actually all looked in good shape including the valley hose.

Getting at all the hose clips was a real PITA and I used multiple tools for the job.

Just shipped my rebuilt super charger back to PSE for them to look at as I was unhappy with the noise it was making.

Griff,

Like jackra_1, to get the best hose prices I had to buy from multiple vendors, including Welsh Enterprises and Rock Auto. I also checked with our forum sponsors Coventry West and Jagbits. For the dealer-only hoses the best prices I found were at Jaguar Merriam, the Kansas dealer who sells online at discount prices. Gaudin Jaguar in Las Vegas has similar and often identical prices, but shipping to Tennessee costs more. Since you're in Colorado you should compare the total cost including shipping from both Merriam and Gaudin (jaguarmerriam.com, gaudinjaguarparts.com / jaguarlasvegasparts.com. Generally neither dealership stocks the parts for our cars and has to order them from the main warehouse in New Jersey, or occasionally, from the U.K.

Cheers,

Don
