Default need to replace right mirror and that makes me nervous...

hi everyone.
right mirror on my jaguar 2003 must be replaced and as it seems be fit with some plastic ****, or
something like that, i got nervous about this work as i dont want to spoil it.
is it just to use a screwdriver or is that a bad idéa?
add a photo so you here can see how it looks.

Are you wanting to remove the mirror from the housing on the car? If so position the mirror so that you can get you fingers behind d the glass and it will just pull off. Or are you talking about removing the glass from the part you have pictured above? If so then I am afraid that it is one piece and doesn't come apart. It looks like a heated and chromatic mirror in the pic. What is the actual problem? Have the terminals for the heating element rotted off, looks like it in the pic.

hi joedredd and thanx for your reply.
yes it is the chromatic function that is not working and i tested with my fingers as you mentioned, it worked
very well and now the new mirror is in place. thanx for your help.
