Default need a scanner/code reader for X350

what code reader / scanner works with Jaguar X350? 2006 XJR to be exact.
Best results for as little as possible of coarse. I'm realistic. I don't want cheap and I don't want $800. Something that will read electrical, like park assist, as well as drive train and chassis.
Hopefully easy to use as well.
Thanks

There's always https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...-%2A%2A-33347/

You might want to read a few pages from the start and then work back from the end.

I have a Foxwell NT510 for Jaguar/Land Rover and it's been pretty good. It can scan/clear all codes such as engine, chassis, suspension, brake, etc. At $179, it's a bit spendy, but with as many times I use it to clear codes, it has easily paid for itself. My main gripe with it is that it makes me enter my VIN every time I use it and for some reason won't save it.

Thanks Brewster411! How is the learning curve on the NT510? I never had a scanner before. I like that you say it reads Jag specific codes: brakes. sensors, park assist etc. Aside from the VIN thing, is there something else it did or didn't do for you?

I've found that scanning and clearing codes is very easy. I haven't tried doing anything else with it and I'm not entirely sure what advanced features it actually has.

The way I use the tool is I will hit "Autoscan" and it will scan each of the 18 or so computers in the car and go down the list noting the number of faults with each computer. When it has finished the scan, which takes about 45 seconds, you can select each computer individually to view the faults. You can clear the faults on each computer or clear all faults at once. So far I've used it to clear suspension faults, gearbox faults, DSC faults, and miscellaneous other electrical faults that I didn't even know existed before running the scan.

Edit: Here's a picture showing the codes from an individual computer.

Ok Thanks! One question, probably a dumb one. When the foxwell found all those various faults, had you noticed that these things were not working (well)? Simply clearing a code will not fix anything. So I guess you check again a while later and see if same code(s) come up indicating a problem to fix. Is that right? I guess that's 2 questions
Thanks again

Another option is the iCarsoft i930 or LR11.The i930 is a bit cheaper and both models are made specifically for jag and landrover.I tried the i930 first but it would not communicate 100% with my 2004 xj8.So I upgraded to the LR11 which works fine.It scans all modules, can clear codes and will give you live data.

Just purchased the i930. So will see whether it works on my 2005 XJR as well a my 2013 Range Rover Sport.

The JLR SDD software is too cumbersome for simply reading codes. Great for suspension leveling tho.

Well, if there is a problem, the code is going to come back. My parking sensors work intermittently. I wasn't sure there was a problem until I saw the code. Same for the passenger side mirror. Once every couple months I'll notice my mirror pointed at the sky. Thought it was just some random weird thing until I pulled the codes and it shows a ground fault with the mirror.

The first time I pulled the codes after purchasing the car, dozens of codes showed up. I cleared them, but some are recurring. Most were stored codes were probably thrown when the battery died on the previous owner and haven't shown up again.

"pulled the codes and it shows a ground fault with the mirror."

Thanks for that info, mine has been occasionally misbehaving for years.

I told myself that it "forgot" LOL

I went with the Foxwell NT644 Pro, it does every system on the Jag. Only just got it, so will mess around and get back as to just how good, or bad, it is.
