New member 2008 XJ8
Hello...
I am back into big cats. I used to have a 1994 XJ12 which I lost (2003) (totaled in 1994 @91000).... I miss the V12...
I just bought a dealer maintained 2008 XJ8 (all service to 80K performed) @ 85k miles. The car feels and drives like new but I have few concerns...
1- Jaguar voice doesn't work... Was it an optional feature?
2- Preparing for the inevitable air suspension problem... Any recommendations? Can I add XJR suspension bit into it if I prefer sportier ride?
3- Anything outside the maintenance schedule that I should preform?
Thanks

1. Jaguar Voice was an option
2. The most common air suspension issue is a worn-out compressor. Normally it is the piston seal, so you can get a kit from member "bagpipingandy' to do a DIY job. Otherwise they are about £300
3. Normal maintenance is OK but it might be prudent to get the suspension checked out front and rear for any wearing bushes and ball joints. I always think it is best to be aware beforehand of what you might have to do. Of course some may have already been replaced.
Unfortunately the suspension bushes tend to wear out rather quicker than one would normally expect. There is now plenty of stuff on the after-market so you don't have to pay Jaguar dealer prices.

Here's a thread that discusses it.

I just added the voice module to my 2008. I bought the module from a member on the forum, he is still showing that he has one more for sale.

Would this part allow me to have voice control?
04 05 06 07 Jaguar XJ8 Motorola Bluetooth Voice Control ECU Communication Module | eBay
And what is DB2?
Lastly, any advice on adding an amp and upgrading the lows of the stereo?
I also noticed something...
When I park the car when it is cool (50F)... The front is noticeably lower than the rear. As soon as the car is running. 2 seconds later and the front end rises and the car is normal. Is this early signs of air suspension problems?
