New member introduction - low fuel pressure
Greetings to all members and happy 4th of July! I have been a Jaguar enthusiast since the 1987 "Here I go again" video by Whitesnake. My first Jag was a 1999 xj8 followed by a 2000 Vanden Plas. I just purchased a2006 XJ8L and am in the process of working out all the bugs. I'm getting a low fuel rail pressure reading giving me a check engine light. I replaced what I beleive was the factory fuel fifilter on a car with 180000 miles and I'm still getting the check engine light. Next step is to replace the fuel pressure sensor/regulatorl ocated at the front of the right bank fuel rail. The car starts instantly and runs /drives like a dream so I'm hoping the sensor replacement fixes the check engine light saving me from replacing the very expensive and labor intensive fuel pump. Does anyone have any thoughts on my plight?? Thanks
