Been wanting one for a long time...Love my XJ8, but that extra supercharged power, wider tires and larger wheels, Brembo brakes, power upgrade availability, I am not sure if I will need my XJ8 any more...Needs a little work but the body/interior are excellent...Looking forward to fixing her up and modding it out!!!

Well my Gamble paid off! The transmission sleeve was causing all of the issues with the shifting...Cost 150$ installed...Selling spare set of tires for 350$... OZ rims that came with it 300$...So I'm into this beauty for 1500$...Of course he said I have to drive it for a couple hundred miles for tranny adaptives, but it shifts amazing already...This car is now an investment!!! Now for the 3 lb pulley, intake, PCM remap...

First of all I really loved the 2 Jags in the garage photo, quite priceless!

I own a 2004 XJR and love it. $1500 is a small price to pay when you can enjoy your XJR.

Do you do any club activities in the area? Plenty going on in your backyard, MA and NH.

Hello all, my name is Rick and I recently purchased a used 2004 XJR with 82,000 miles. It had a clean Car Fax and Title and it has been a joy to drive since I picked it up in Palm Desert on Friday, 17 June. I do have some questions because I noticed that after the 50000 mile warranty ran out the Jaguar dealer servicing stopped. When I checked the fluids, they were all clear and bright as if recently changed. What should I look at next for upcoming maintenance since I have no records of the last service?
Also, how do I know the supercharger is working? In all the videos you can hear a noticeable supercharger whine, but my car is very quite, is that normal?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Rick

One other recent post made reference to not being able to hear the super charger whine however most owners can hear it.

I can hear mine and my hearing is not the best now. I could hear it before I had an upgraded pulley installed.

Maybe try running without the shield spanning across the intercoolers. Mine is red in the pic.

One obvious maintenance job would be to change the transmission fluid as it likely has not been done. Lots of info on that procedure in this forum.

Its working if it has *****...There not real loud anyways...I am guessing it will throw a code if you spun a belt or whatever...At 82K I'm sure its huffing away! Shut off traction control, stab it to 1/2 throttle and your tires will spin...If so your fine...Get a Mina intake, pull out the flap and the blower will sing to you!!!
