My 08 XJ8 won’t allow sound from the radio. No FM, No AM, No CD. But u can clearly see the CD is playing and the radio stations are tuned in. Any clues?

It's very probably the D2B connection.

This is the fibre optic connection in the boot/trunk and is either just a bad connection

or the fibre optic needs to be replaced.

There is a way to replace it without using fibre optic but search recent posts for details

on that.

I had random loss of all audio that a restart would sort out, it would usually loose the phone setting too. After wondering what part of the audio system was failing the battery just went and died utterly over a weekend. Anyway I replaced the el cheapo battery with a yusa one and since then All my electrics gremlins have gone.
