Default no communication with TCM, 2005 XJ-8

Is there a separate power supply to the TCM? I have no communication to it thru my scanner? Thanks!

As always - check that your voltage is around 12.6 or better at the OBD port.

Got around to retesting everything, (after I brought it to a specialist who told me the TCM was NG) found the ground behind the right front headlight had corroded! Repaired the ground and rechecked, no ign power to terminal #9 in the TCM connector. Traced to the interior fuse panel,#33, Replaced the fuse an presto!

Remember I had that issue years back. Not sure if it was the problem but a bad wire ended up being revealed leading to my transmission that would blow the fuse dealing with my ECU/TCM. It cause my car to be dead in the water. One lil wire
