Default No start multiple messages on dash

Ok so I just bought and damn nice 2005 XJ8L for very cheap because it don't run. I charged the battery and when I put the key in it the first thing on the dash is gearbox then it pulls up suspension to low and abs diable and dsc. Go to start the car and nothing when go to crank position. I checked fuses and found that most the fuses in engine compartment have no power to them at all. Where do I need to start on this project? Car only has 73k on it

Welcome to the forum Erik52069,

I've moved your question from X308 to X350 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Download the electrical handbook and then check and clean all of the ground (earth) points.if you have a new, correct battery you may need to charge it (sometimes a new battery is not fully charged when purchased) and even double check it for a good charge. It is unlikely but possible it is faulty. I would start with the grounds. You may do a search for the most common locations in the front and back. Be careful when tightening them and do not just look at them. Take them apart and clean them.Good luck and congratulations on your new purchase.

Congratulations on your 2005 Jaguar XJ8L, and I happen to own one too. The first thing that I would do is to ascertain that the vehicle's battery is the correct one. Basically, the battery will appear noticeably larger than those in typical domestic vehicles (except Chrysler). Next, check the battery voltage, and make certain that the battery terminals are clean and snug. Afterwards, check the earth grounds, and especially those in the trunk.

Why not start with code readers specific for Jaguar?

Why not have a look and see - it's quicker than asking and waiting.

Correct me if I am wrong but all fuse boxes have one main source of power. Why not start from there and check voltage for power to each fuse box in engine compartment. Typically they are the largest wire that bolt to fuse box.

I'm not sure if they do. The fuse box in the engine compartment has I would say 75% of the fuses have no power to them and a few of then do. I'm not at the car for a couple more hours it's sitting at work so I'm gonna get there early so I can work on it and hopefully find something that is a simple fix so I can get it back home or at least get the air suspension up so I can load it on a trailer
