Not like the old days
For some years now I have been buying mainly used spare parts from e bay UK
when they have been for sale at a reasonable price and I have collected quite a few parts.
About 10-12 days ago my boot lock made a funny noise and failed.
I had to open it with the key.
When I got home I fitted a latch (with integral motor) from my stock of spares and about an
hour later it was 'job done'!
A couple of days ago I was poking around under the bonnet when I realised that the t stat
vent pipe to the coolant header was hanging on by a thread.
Fitted a spare (new) tank and I was 'good to go'.
I repaired the old tank with a stainless steel nipple which I had -yes you guessed it-in my box of spares.
Seriously though it was so bl***y convenient to have spares to hand.
