So I finally took my 2009 XJL VDP out from under the cover to properly wash and Polish .
So here are the before pics.
However after 8 hours in the sun polishing every nook and cranny I put her away and forgot to take after pics. Hopefully Ill take her back out tomorrow for proper pictures now that it's all cleaned up.
I bought this beauty last Christmas and have barely had a chance to bond with her until today. I've been so preoccupied with my two x308 XJRs
( 1 that I just finished a head and valve service on) that I never even properly cleaned her or drove her until today.
My first 2009 XJL
87k Happy to report she drives like a a magic carpet . Wonderful! It came with new air struts on all 4 corners. Very surprised how fast it is for Non supercharged. Not as much difference as I would have thought.
Out for first proper wash and polish . Before picture.

For want of anywhere better to post, here's the colour pallette from the official 54-page Sales Booklet of the X358 which I was lucky enough to obtain. (UK edition)
The images look similar to the booklet to my eye, though I can't compare with the other cars as I only have "Winter Gold" :-) (which is a good representation)
Since the wording may be hard to read, it"s
-Botanical Green, Emerald Fire, Seafrost, Frost Blue, Blue Prism, Indigo, Midnight
-Ebony, Pearl Grey, Lunar Grey, Liquid Silver, Porcelain, Winter Gold, Radiance (red)
Upholstery-Ivory, Dove, Champagne, Warm Charcoal, Mocha(upper facia only), Granite (upper facia only)
(Epson scanner. The brightness variations are in the original brochure pics)

Thanks, its the "new style" mesh upper and lower grill from Mina Gallery. I bought it from a member here a few years ago for much less than new price. They come in either chrome or black. The one I bought was chrome, but I painted it black to give it a slightly more sporty/aggressive look vs the luxury look. Here is a link:

Allycat: that is my current color combination of choice... if I had my time again.
PDMiller: that is also spectacular, actually Black/Red is the Mark of a Limousine, which is the same and best combination of my old Mark 10. Just sayin'
I am going to vote for both. Let the courts decide which vote is legitimate.
Yours, Goldy-on-Champagne

There's two garage doors at right angles. You're a stunt driver!
...or a Cleaner, with a Jag. Never seen such a clean garage...

Last weekend, we had a 'Mondayised' holiday (Waitangi Day) so my wife and I drove from Oxford in the eastern foothills of the Southern Alps of New Zealand's South Island, across Arthur's Pass to Moana, a small town on the shore of Lake Brunner on the West Coast. A beautiful warm day, and the car performed perfectly, and barely noticed the 737m (2400 feet) climb and descent.
Parked at the boat ramp, Lake Brunner
