Default Official ZF Transmission 6HP Series Service Video

I don't recall having seen this one posted, so here goes. This covers the basics for a straightforward fluid change. The video gives a warmup temperature to check the fluid at between 30º and 40º C. Also shows the torque sequence for the pan. I went ahead and snapped a screencap of the illustration.

Hope this helps someone considering doing this service themselves.

Thx, very useful.
Good to see that ZF provides this clear info.
Maybe worth also to change the small diameter nuts of the pan during the process (and hoping no seizyre issues of sare encountered to remove them!)

Very helpfull video, thanks.
Does someone know, how much fluid is necessary on a XJ8-gearbox changing like to guy in the video does ?
Is 6 liters also applicable to a jag ?

These boxes are just like the X308....there 'dry' spec is 10 litres and a normal drop and fill will take up to5 litres.

Good info and yes, it's almost similar to the proceedure for the 5HP24 box on our cars...should have had an X350 up on the hoist ;o))
Oil level check is the same....30.C is the lowest and 50.C is the highest.
Above thjis and the box must cool down to between spec. temps.
Lifeguard-6 is the preferred oil for these.
