Default Oil filler cap o-ring/gasket needed

After 10 years the oil cap is seeping onto the valve cover and coils since on the XF they are not sealed very well. Posting in this section since the 4.2 V8 probably had the most installs on the XJ, on the XF it was a just an early one year unicorn.

The cap part number is AJ87922 but I don't think anyone wants to spend $40-50 just for the o-ring, not seeing a separate part number. Hoping that since these caps were used on Jag V8s for almost 20 years that there is a replacement out there that I'm just not finding. Thanks for any help.

Related thread where a someone had a leak from the PCV and sourced the O-rings from theoringstore.com but I wouldn't know the correct size for the oil cap.

On a VW for example this is a separate part that is available for just a few $.

I have had very good success matching o-rings and purchasing them online at theoringstore.com. If you can take accurate micrometer readings for the ID (inner diameter) and CS (cross section) of the O-ring you will be able to match it. The o-rings on the site are reasonably priced - it is the shipping that may make it a bit prohibitive but if you need it and you know they got it then it is a no-brainer. The site is not the easiest to navigate but the information is there.

Just buy the entire oil fill pipe assembly for $24: https://www.terrysjag.com/product/AJ88581.html Come with a new cap.
