I am about to change my brake pads on my 2004 XJ8. Dealer wants $150/set but I can get front and back at an independent shop for $150. Told me that they were factory spec Beck Arnley pads. Has anyone had any experience with these pads? From what I've read, they use the same suppliers as the dealership...

I don't know about the souce of the brake parts, But I have used BA parts from the late 60's on up with no problems @ all. Go for it. I would use ceramic pads if you can. Cuts down on the dust.

Bought the Beck Arnley pads. They are the same pads that come from the factory. Front pads are Textar and that's who made the factory pads. Love them so far. Excellent stopping power and I was able to get them from Amazon or eBay for less than $150 for the front and back set!

Franchise is correct. BeckArnley has a line of pads that are direct factory parts. These pads have a 089* prefix. Pads are in original packaging with a Beck/Arnley label.

Why would you use OEM pads instead of going ceramic? The OEM pads dust like crazy, I can't wait to switch to ceramics on my XJ8.

Haven't had a real problem with dust so far. Beck Arnley parts are OEM parts directly from the original vendors. Good way to get quality parts at a better price than the dealership.
