Overcharged for thermostat replacement ?

I'm a new jaguar enthusiast so I'm not 100% familiar with repair / maintenence procedures yet, but this doesn't seem right. An independent shop recently quoted me about $550 to change the thermostat , housing (to aluminum which it already is), & a collection flush. I dropped the car off today and when I picked it up the bill was $100 less due to the housing already being aluminum. They only replaced the thermostat but still charged me the same $360 labor fee. When I asked them about it they said the labor is the same and the housing still had to come out in order to change the thermostat. Is this true? Or should the labor be less ? Thanks

What are they charging for labor rate and how many hours did they bill you? AllData reports 2.2 hours for thermostat replacement with a price of a new thermo as 65 dollars.
I would have expected close to 300 with an inflated part price as expected and a say 85 to 110 an hour in labor. Also probably topping off the coolant and bleeding the system.
If you already paid there is probably little chance to get your money back, but clearly that shop is to be avoided.
