Overfilled Transmission Symptoms

Refilled the transmission this weekend due to transmission lines leaking. My shifting is slightly off. I'm guessing it's a little overfilled since I plugged it back up at about 33C. But could be wrong, I did do the procedure under lack of sleep. Does anyone know what the symptoms are for any overfilled ZF?

You should have a slight drip at 40C. If temp gets to 42 - 43C cap it up immediately. Give or take replacing the trans lines requires .5L of fluid.
Hope the above helps.

Hi BlackKat,
What fluid did you use to refill? Mixing different types of fluids can cause shifting problems.
Also, prior to refilling, did you do the procedure of setting the emergency brake, starting the engine, depressing the brake pedal to prevent the rear wheels from turning, then moving the gear selector lever to each gear position for 3 seconds or so and then back to Park? If not, some of the fluid passages in the valve body and gearbox may have been unfilled, resulting in a low overall fluid level even though fluid was dripping out of the sump fill hole.
Cheers,
Don
