P1647 O2 Sensor fault
Good morning everyone,
Can somebody explain to me where does the wiring with a connector, the upstream O2 sensor connector plugs into, connect to?
Is it a single wiring or part of a multi-wire harness? Going through the JEPC I was unable to find it.
The reason I am asking is because there is a possibility that the connector, my Bank 2 upstream O2 sensor plugs into, was damaged during installing new CATs and moving the O2 sensors from old to the new CATs. I've noticed that the mechanic who was replacing my CATs had struggled to reconnect the Bank 2 O2 sensor connector to the connector at the end of a wire that seems to be coming from somewhere in the engine bay area, but claimed to have succeeded after 10 minutes.
Later that day I ran the scan and fault P1647 popped out.
Since both of my O2 sensors worked prior to replacing the CATs and having heard from the mechanic how all connectors have become brittle, I am suspecting that either the O2 sensor wire connector got damaged or the other that plugs into it.
If the the O2 sensor wire plastic connector got damaged, I suppose it means buying a new sensor?
If it is the other one, is it replaceable or I need to find a complete harness. If so, does anybody know a part no?
Thanks

No doubt that is a great source for DIY-ers and weekend mechanics of which I am neither.
I was hoping for a simple answer such as the part number (should I end up having to buy a new one) or somebody's experience - surely somebody must have had issues with broken plastic electrical connectors, which (in my case) increasingly start to disintegrate after 15 years of being affected by the scorching heat for most of the year (Kuwait).
What I could gather from the electrical diagram was that upstream O2 sensors connect to the ECM through some sort of wiring (with connectors on both sides).
That's the thing I am after (I think).
