Default paint crossover

The previous owner of my XJR stated that the paint color CBH AKA; Radiance RED Pearl, would crossover to a Ford color. I should have taken notes. Anyone have a clue on this?

I just went to a 3M paint distributor and told them my car was Topaz Metallic SEC and they mixed up a 12 oz spray can for under $40.
You can get cans of Clear Coat.

They could mix Pints, Quarts etc.

You mean CHB. Don't see any reason to map to a Ford color, any paint shop can mix it up. Color and Trim are in the door jamb.

Yes CHB.... A little dyslexia apparently. I was just thinking of how available the ford stuff is, pretty much any parts store. If it was an exact match and good quality, that could be a benefit to know,

In the UK there are numerous ebay sellers that will mix it and put it in a spray can or a touch up pot., the place I used was particularly a good match on my Radiance Red a couple of years ago.

If you visit personally and play your cards right (e.g. wear ragged jeans), they had to mix up a certain amount for the spray can and gave me the leftovers in a touch-up pot for free.

Reminds me of my father (RIP), at 90 he'd put on some dirty mechanics overalls, go into an auto shop, and say "can you give me the retail price AS WELL."

(I've only ever done "down there" (below the bumper), it's impossible to spray in the middle of a visible panel, the touch-up paint is more useful because you can touch-up stone chips as better than nothing)
