Is there one Electronic parkbrake motor for a 2004 XJR, with Brembo brakes? One side weats quicker than the other, I suspect there must be something hanging up on that side? Has anyone else had the same problem?

There is only one motor/actuator housing and it has only one cable attached. There are one or two additional cables. There are several places in the system that could hang up due to corrosion, cable fraying, etc. You'll have to check all the cables and levers for freedom of movement.

Cheers,

Don

Every have any luck with this? I have basically the same problem. Worked fine prior to battery going flat. Charged battery and park brake fault appeared. Done all of the troubleshooting I can. See this thread.

Hi jahummer,

Does the "Apply Footbrake" warning appear on your instrument cluster? Typically after the battery is disconnected and reconnected you have to depress the brake pedal and operate the electronic park brake and the warning will go away.

Cheers,

Don

Hi Don

I’ve done everything as indicated in the thread I linked. About the only thing I haven’t done is test voltage at the actuator.

Did you ever resolve the fault?
