Question Parts Interchangeability...

Does any one know of the 4.2 V-8 in the XJ8 ('08 model) is the same as the Ford 4.2 V-8? Like what Ford had used in their Mustangs, etc...
Asking to better understand the Jag 4.2 V8 and perhaps have an alternate source for engine parts.

Sorry, not familiar with ford power plants. The jag 4.0 shared some minor parts with Lincoln's 3.9. Some parts like MAFS, pressure relief valve, and others that have denso part nos can be found across other manufacturers. Its more of an exception than the rule to find another brand that uses the same part and get it cheaper. Our jaguar dealer/parts dept that sponsors our forum offer very good prices over local parts counters.

The Jaguar 4.2 is a "Pure Jaguar Engine" not Ford. Ford did use a copies in the Lincoln LS and T-Bird. Not sure about the other Ford 4.2s. Best bet would be to acquire a copy of the LS parts manual and compare parts.

A double post deserves a double answer.

Nope some simularities but that is all. Ford used an AJ30 and AJ35 engines built in the States while Jaguar used, up till 2008, the AJ34 and AJ34S built in the UK. From 2009 onwards Jaguar upgraded to the AJ133 engine.

I think
