Default Passenger door mirror

Hey Everyone,

Unfortunately my passenger door assembly has completely broken and I need to replace it. I ended up ordering a perfectly good assembly off of a wrecked 04 XJ. How do I go about removing the entire mirror assembly? I imagine that I have to remove the interior door panel but I don't really know what to do after that, I would really appreciate any help that I can get with this.

P.S I searched the forum but couldn't find any info on removing the whole assembly

Thank you in advance

Mathew

Thanks for the prompt replies everyone, I had removed most of the trim on the door but I couldn't figure out how to get the trim that goes near the mirror out. How do I go about that?

Thank you,

Mathew

Are you talking about the chrome pieces?

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=29860

That is for an S-type, but it may be similar on the XJ

Thank you for the links,

Richard,

You wouldn't happen to have a higher resolution version of that picture? I'm having a hard time reading it.

Thank you,

Mathew

Sorry, I assumed it would download at a reasonable resolution but I have just tried and it is tiny! I have attached a PDF of the same info.

Thank you very much for the help, all I have to do now is transfer the glass and the motor from my old mirror to the new one. Does anyone know how I would go about doing that?

Mathew
