Phone call volume is very soft
When I connect a phone call via bluetooth to my '06 XJR the sound coming through the speakers is very soft. At highway speeds I can barely hear the caller which rather defeats the purpose of having bluetooth capability. I have adjusted the volume to the highest setting. In the thread "What don't you like about your XJ?" https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...j-32748/page7/ timfountain referenced an 'upgraded Jaguar microphone' (See post 124) but I have searched and found nothing. Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem? Is there a fix like timfountain suggests? Thanks all.

@XJRont
I'm not able to connect how replacing or upgrading the microphone is going to have any impact on the in call sound coming through your car speakers ??
In your post the issue you are having is you cannot hear your callers....... correct ? (It's not that they can't hear you, although you may also have that problem, but you didn't say)
If thats the case it's lack of signal from the phone. I don't have an issue with my phone in the XJ, although the volume is around 23 (out of a max of 25). Is the call volume on your phone turned all the way up ? If not, try that...... then the next problem will be when you are NOT in the car and you answer your phone, you'll get deafened...... however, there are multiple apps (I know for sure for Android, not sure about iPhone) that will automatically adjust your phones volume depending on what it is doing, ie connected to bluetooth or not

I also wondered about the suggestion to upgrade the mic - wondered if perhaps the poster meant something else.
I will try to increase the phone volume - that could be part of the issue. I'm at 25 in the car, but do notice that after BT is turned back off the volume on the phone itself is quite. Thanks for the suggestion.

As other have said, the microphone doesn't impact on this.
The issue could either be the phone settings/compatablily or the Jaguar BT installation.
To help determine which it is, try pairing a different BT phone with the Jaguar. If the volume is the same, it's the Jaguar installation. If the volume is normal, it's your phone settings.
