I have a terrible phone mic I think...XJ8L (2008) I can't use the integrated phone because while I hear the caller fine, they can not hear me -even if I am yelling into the ceiling mic - they describe it as if I was a million miles away. Is it just a faulty microphone or a common problem? Does anyone else have the same issue?

Is there a fix?

 

I have a very similar issue with my iPhone 7 on my 2007 X350.... the issue I have is that it isn't the microphone as when I use the voice controls it picks up my voice fine!!
I have 'forgot' the car on my phone before now and re-connected and it has worked for a while but not all the time - I am beginning to think that it is some kind of a compatibility issue with the car Bluetooth and more modern phones!

 

Uh.. almost bought that iphone7.. will wait for iphone8 then)))

 

I doubt it is the Bluetooth on the phone software that is the issue as I hav tried my 5s on it too and that also doesn't' work half the time!


It is either an issue with the software in the car or it is a stupid setting somewhere that I have not found that is the issue - the fact hat is does sometimes work makes me think this could be the case but I am dammed if I can find anything on my phone menu's or the car menu's!!
