Default phone mount suggestions

So I have tried searching the forum but have not seen to much on phone mounts for the car.

I am looking for a mount thats permanent and solid that looks decent but wont damage the car. I don't want something hanging from the windshield. Nice bonus would be a mount that could rotate horizontal or vertical. I did see a couple posts talking about the Kuda mount but that seems a bit big and low down on the dashboard. Ideally it would be nice to have something a bit higher on the dash more in line of sight for using as a nav device.

Anyone have any suggestions? I have seen the ProClip mount website, anyone have experience with those?

I use an air vent mount and mount my phone on the middle vent nearest the driver so it's a good height to use for sat nav etc it also rotates but it's only a cheap one from eBay as I rarely use it

I use a suction mount on the dash (stays put but can be moved) and it magnetic. You add a small disc inside the phone cover so it works with any phone that has a back coer that can be removed.

Search for iMagnet.

Mine is in the glove box charging all the time, and use BT from the touch screen. The Kuda mount seems like the best looking on the market as it blends right in and does NOT alter the car interior. The only concern I would have with the Kuda, is that you would have to lean over and look down while driving to operate the phone. I would be really concerned when I looked back up and saw the concrete truck stopped right in front of me!!!

I place my phone inside the cigarette lighter cubbyhole, fits perfectly. Use a silicone gel case so it doesn't slide off.
Never liked vent mounts or windshield/dash mounts (clunky and ugly, may be hard to remove, the dash mount in my Prius is stuck hard and won't come off).

My phone (Samsung galaxy note 3) is in aa case, so I sit it directly ON the ash tray door, & it doesn't move...
