Still looks fantastic - clearly you decided against the XJR.

Where did you get the windows tinted? Were you happy with the job and cost? I have to do the same to my XJR - just too darn light inside especially with the recent heat. Thanks.

Thanks guys. XJRont, I had my window tinted at Sweet Wheelz in Mississauga. Llumar tint 35% $220 tax included. Very pleased with the work and service. I was slow to react to the XJR. Got to the dealer 4 days later and it was sold. I bought a 08 S type instead for the wifey.

Thanks Slick - I've been debating where to go - unless I can find a place in Burlington, I'll call them up. Nice to get a recommendation from a happy customer!

Dropped my XJR off at Sweet Wheelz Tuesday en route to the airport and picked her back up this afternoon with newly darkened windows. 35% all around. Although there's rain in the forecast I had to wash her as soon as we got home - sitting there she got kind of dirty. Thanks again Slick for the endorsement of this place. Tint looks good. Here's how she looks now (no before pix).

Thanks KarlC. I'am saving for a body kit from J Complete. Hopefully, if all goes as planned, I'll have it installed by next spring Here's a link to their website

Biggieslicky

After riding them for a couple of years what are your impressions on your Continental DWS tires? How well do they handle in the winter? Have they held up well for you?

Hey Davedella, took a look at all your pics. Good job on the modifications. Very tasteful, not too flashy or stock looking. Just about right. A few of the mods you've done were also on my wish list ( piping, picnic tables, wood dash surround, lower mesh etc...) But the bank account won't allow it right now .... You keep your car in prestine condition ! Hard to believe its an 04! Looks like it just rolled out of the assembly plant! I like the small details you've done to the interior too . Like the Jaguar leaper/logo positioned in discreet areas.
You can find the 5 spoke "callisto" wheel listed on EBay from time to time. I believe there was a forum member on this site that had a listing on eBay for his Callisto wheels about a couple of months back. Do a search on this site and inquire if he still has them for sale.

45wheelgun, I've done about 24,000km on these tires in the last 2 years, and so far I've been very pleased with its performance. Tire wear has been above average, it's smooth riding both on highway and city roads. We had a pretty harsh winter this past year and performance on this tire was very good for an all season. I put these tires on my wife's S-Type and she's done about 40,000km on them. And so far, it's performing above average in terms of thread wear, comfort and stopping distance.

KarlC, the cost of the kit is $3000US plus $800 shipping to Canada. I'am really looking forward to this upgrade next spring ! The other 2 companies that make kits for the X350 are Wald International JAGUAR XJ X350 SPORTS LINE BLACK BISON EDITION ~'07 and Arden
Arden Jaguar Tuning XJ 350/358

Biggieslicky,

Forgive the newbie question, but were the straps that hold your umbrella to the trunk lid already fitted to your car, or did you add them yourself? I'm wondering how hard it is to retrofit them to my car, which does not have 'em.

Cheers,

cjp

Hi CJP, the straps were an accessory from Jaguar. The part# is c2c5101. You can buy them from your local Jaguar dealer or sometimes it gets listed on EBay. I paid $25 CND through the dealer. They are very easy to install. Open your trunk and you will see 2 plugs on the roof. Replace the plugs with the ones supplied with your umbrella holder. Takes 3mins max to install. The kit comes with easy to follow instructions too .

The umbrella straps are pretty cool, a must have for any proper gentleman. From a thread with my own personal modifications, both interior and exterior.

For a look at all of the accessories that are offered by the dealer (and the part number), click on this catalog.
