Default Plastic Hex Nut and Jaguar Hood Ornament

Does anybody know what size plastic hex nut that holds on the Jaguar Hood Ornament? Seem like it maybe 23mm or 24mm? My car was bought with somebody trying to glue the Ornament back on apparatus it attaches to.

24 mm socket/wrench would fit. A 23 mm would be too small.

Just measured the plastic hex nut from a hood ornament I just took off a 2006 XJ Super V8 Portfolio.

Good luck with sorting out yours.

Were you able to take off the nut without removing the hood latch apparatus? I notice it has a whole to reach up to the nut but it looks kinda off center were maybe the socket and/or extension will not fit on it correctly to remove it.

I have a 24 mm socket, but it was not deep enough to fit (as you've experienced). I used a pair of linesman's pliers, but any longish set of plier with wide-ish flat ends will do. Insert, find the surface of the nut and twist. It should not be in super tight (doesn't need to be really). Hope this works.
