The Centric anti rattle spring arrived today. Yes Don, they are for both sides of the vehicle. $20 vs. $100 + from Jaguar (per side so $200+). I bought the Akebano's off of eBay and they arrived 4 days ago.

I did the front today. Rattle is gone. Woohoo. So I'm confirming the same issue that Collector1 had, that front brake pads are one more thing to check when you hear rattling over bumps.

I'll do the rears over the weekend. Ceramic - it will be so nice knowing that I won't have to clean my wheels weekly!!!

Correction.
Akebono rears - EUR592

The 1095's fit the park brake. At least the appeared to be. I don't need them right now so I didn't remove the caliper but they are the same.

The EUR592's are the same shape as the front. If I search for rear brakes, 2005 SV8, the 1095's come up (see here as an example)

2005 Jaguar Super V8 Disc Brake Pad - Akebono EUR1095

but this is really the part

MyPartsGarage - Akebono Euro Ultra Premium Ceramic Pad EUR592

Entirely different shape.

Does anybody know if there is a part number for the retaining springs on a 2003 xj6 x350?

Hi Kyle,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

Have you confirmed that your car has retaining springs? The Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) does not show brake pad retaining springs in the exploded diagrams for the non-supercharged X350. Here is the diagram for the front:

And here is the rear:

You don't mention whether you have the petrol or diesel engine, but I don't see any difference in the brake parts between the two. You can download the EPC and install it on your computer by following the instructions in this thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uctions-48194/

When you can, please add the year, model and engine details of your Jag to your signature line so others can give you the most accurate replies.

Also, please visit the https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/ and post an introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome.

Cheers,

Don
