Or buy an '07 XJR Portfolio over here in Europe.

Yes there was a SWB XJR with those vents available here, they even did a diesel model...

...there is a couple of outfits that sell aftermarket vents. Can't remember the names at the moment. I believe one of them is a sponsor on this site.

If I could play for this car, I'd be loathe to drive it, unfortunately. By now, such a low-miler 'folio will probably fetch a king's ransom in a few short years. Certainly puts me in a tizzy just looking at the photos.

Thanks for the link Trav. Yes that's one special car...

It's hard to say if it would actually go up in value over time, but it certainly wouldn't fall too far. Did you see the thread about the 2004 XJR with 1'779 miles for sale?

I would have probably bought that car from the forum post if I hadn't bought one yet. I was ready to execute on a Texas car and wasn't ever going to be too choosy on color combos. I would have taken it. Sweet ride.

Cambo - realise this is from quite somewhile ago, but don't suppose you have the part numbers for the fenders and vents do you?

Love the Portfolio and 08+ fenders, it would be nice if there was a ez cost effective way to add them to the 04-07 cars that do not have them

The most cost effective way to get vents is to find some used fenders off an x358, I did this upgrade when I converted my 350 to a 358. The only really decent vents for this though are those on the 2009 portfolio (US only) which are milled from one piece of aluminium. I had the plastic chrome vents on mine which although look ok from a distance, arent the best closeup. The plastic lugs on the back of them are also prone to breaking. Nearly lost a vent at the car wash recently.

Then there's the holy grail of vents - those fitted to the 06/07 portfolio. I've been lucky enough to find some of these used which i'll be fitting to the car next month. These are a larger (wider) vent and unlike the 358 vent actually have a function. A look at the back of the wing mount shows that it allows airflow out of the back of the engine, thereby reducing engine bay pressure\heat build up.

New prices from Jag: you'll pay about $1500+ for the wings and vents on a 358 if you find a dealer that'll give you a good discount. Secondhand, think I paid around $1000 for both wings and vents. For the 06 portfolio, as Cambo suggests these are mega money. The wings are strangely the same price as the 358, its the alloy vents that are silly money!

If you don't mind spending a little more than $1000 you could get this shipped over:

Cambo - I know, tell me about it. actually the total for left wing, and both alloy vents was 560 Euros plus shipping. Then I had to buy a new right wing from Jaguar which was around the same price. Pic Below.

The wings and vents are currently in transit, but i suspect I will need to get the vents re-polished when they arrive, although from the pics might just be dirt\finger prints - see below. Question is, is it worth getting the vents drawn up in CAD to get quotes for recreating them ;-)

Then the hardest choice - Celestial Black or Black Cherry...

Sorry mate - I do appreciate I have been very lucky in my search!!

I've made some enquiries with a couple of local CAD designers I know, I'll wait to see what the response is and let you know. Is it worth getting a drawing of the rear end of the wing where the vent sits? Say from the top crease to the bottom and a couple of inches in front of the vent opening? Not sure with the small numbers needed that this is worthwhile given the jag wings are still available. Im sure a short run would cost a lot.

On another note - i've decided - celestial black.....

I have a set of the vents that are for the 2009 Portfolio. I sent photos to Cambo at one point. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Well, if i'd known I might not have blown all that money on the new wings and vents for the 06 portfolio. Actually, I probably would.

How much do you want for them?

Default Vents

Now spoken to the two CAD guys i know, both suggest it requires 3d scanning and digitising. First quote back for that - £2750
Really - I could actually buy the equipment for that!!

I'm a bit pressed for time, as I need the car in the paintshop while im on holiday, but will try a couple more places while im finding a decent metal polishers.

Otherwise will need to continue the search for some spares!

Look what arrived this morning...

Interestingly its actually made from at least 3 pieces of alloy plus the mesh.
