Hi to all who have helped me in the past.
I have a 1998 xj8 4.0 moter, my son bourghed my car and brough it back with power stering pump singing. after some investion we determened the pump was leaking. Needless to say he ran it dry , i'ved purchesed a new one and about to install it. I have been working on cars for 30 years but not for the past 10 so i'm a little rusty on newer technology. Frankly this car scares me. Is there anyting speciael about this job (bleeding etc.) that I should know about before I do this myself ? Also how do I determand if it's a 350 or other ? You all haved saved me hundreds on this forum and I sear by it, Thanks, Pop

You need to post in the Forum for the X308 cars, these preceded the X350 series.
Having said this, there is nothing much to do when replacing a PS pump, other than make sure you keep everything squeaky clean when dismantling and reassembling. AFAIK the fluid reservoir is part of the pump assembly, so the pump is self priming via gravity. Check any autotensioner assembly to make sure the bearings are OK and not about to fall apart, and also the serpentine belt. I would put a new one on if it was me doing the job.
