Question Programming ECM for XJR

Can you program any ECM from 2004-2009 models cars to use it
in 2004 Jaguar XJR, or does it must be 2W93-10K975-EF SC
and with part #MB079700-9074?

BTW, a few years back I've asked question to which I got answers
which would have nothing to do with substance of post itself.
Maybe somebody can put together these 2 questions and come up
with answer.

They both used on 2004 - 2005 X350 4.2 SC Jags but
EF have code MB079700-9074 and TB MB079700-9520

Does it mean that they ain't interchangeable and we have to stick to our model only?

Only an experienced, quite old, jag tech might know & you may well be #1 attempting it. So, no replies.

Granted, not everyone ever have dealt with out of ordinary
programming issues but I'm sure that in 20 years since SC 2004 XJR
appeared on the market, some enthusiasts wouldn't ask themselves
"what if" and dig deep down to find an answer. Call it "human nature".

2005 model year has changeover stuff, str is a no-no because of low loss evap but xj probably yes. save your old VID block run immobilization in IDS go start the car you will have your answer.

if your old one is a no-comm i'm not writing the paragraph on how to fix your vid block

Am I missing something?
Thank you for your reply but how your post is related to
programming ECM from different model like XJ8 to XJR?

I believe part way through 2005 the architecture went from VID Block to CCF. Also used a different bus for programming so will be VIN dependent on which will work. That is why many clones and newer readers do not work on pre 2005s. Evidently there were also different ECUs for some countries - don't know why.

Simple logic says that hardware should be the same for every car of any
range of models which sharing years and VIN. It would be crazy to build
ECM hardware with different architecture for XJR, XJ8, S-type and so on.

Of course software is different for any given model to make sure it covers
particular model requirements, like for example XJR program covers a ton
of modulus, sensors supercharge, and so on, something is not part of XJ8

My queries are much more simpler then that. All I wanna to know if anyone
ever tried and succeed to install XJR software in XJ8?

ids identifies hardware you can’t put the wrong calibration into an xjr ecm, they are different period end of story. 06-09 ECMs are also totally different.

again man just get a used ECM from an 05 and older . cheap $40 mongoose clone, cracked sdd, run immo and you’re done.

I never said, I want to put something that doesn't belong to XJR.
I'm asking if it's possible to load XJR OS in XJ8 ECM and see it work

Why 05?
What's wrong with 04 from car with the same bundle of VIN numbers as mine?
