Default Question on Winter tire size and rims

Hello All:

I am totally new to the world of Jags, so I do have some basic questions. I purchased a used 06 Vanden Plas with 8k miles on it (down sized from a newer mercedes s-class)

a) Are there 'parts' differences between a 06 Jag XJ8L and a 06 Jag Vanden Plas?

b) My car came with 19" factory wheels called 'custom chrome'. Since I live up north in MN, I required an extra set of wheels with snow tires on them. I just purchased off ebay, new OEM 17" wheels called 'winter helios'. The seller site states they are for 04-09 Jag XJ8's. There size is 7.5 x 17.

I am just a little concerned, as on web searches, I dont see that 06 VDP ever came with a 17" wheel option, let alone a wheel set called 'winter helios', prime concern being if they will really fit my Jag?

c) ok third question Which tire size is best suited for these 7.5 x 17's? I used a tool online, and that provided me like 50 size choices:

Tyres with
minimum tyre width
for wheel: 7.5x17
205/40R17
205/45R17
205/50R17
205/55R17
205/65R17

Tyres with
ideal tyre width
for wheel: 7.5x17
215/35R17
215/40R17
215/45R17
215/50R17
215/55R17
215/60R17
215/65R17
215/70R17
225/35R17
225/40R17
225/45R17
225/50R17
225/55R17
225/60R17
225/65R17
225/70R17
225/75R17

Tyres with
maximum tyre width
for wheel: 7.5x17
235/40R17
235/45R17
235/50R17
235/55R17
235/60R17
235/65R17
235/70R17
235/75R17
235/80R17
235/85R17

Don't worry.
As far as you don't have a supercharged (XJR or SV8) XJ, your wheels can go down to 17" and still be acceptable by your rotors.
The 17x7.5J OEM Jaguar wheels for winter are very nice forged and light alloys. I had a set on my previous X350 NA. (Today I have a 18" set for my Super V8)
The right tyre is 235/55 R17, preferably extra load (XL)

I think I can still change the order and instead get an 18" OEM set, called: "Tucana" for a little bit more. Its size is: 18 x 8.0

Any advice on the 'winter helios' vs 'tucana'? Also, what would be the right tire size for the Tucana?

Tucana is also a good choice, probably more expensive (as for the tyres).
Tyre size for 18" is 235/50 R18

Is there a TPMS sensor in the existing 19" 06 VDP tires?

I don't think so.
I think TPMS appeared in the X358.
My Portfolio (2006 MY) hasn't in its 20" wheels

TPMS appeared on the 2005.5 onward cars. Paydase, not sure why yours would not have it?

For sure I don't have it, hence my thought it appeared only on X358's.
Mine seems to be one of the very early ones, produced in august 2005.
Maybe also the 2006 Super V8 Portfolio's could be tailored at the buyer's demand...
