Default Quick Question

Hello everybody, I am the new owner of a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 and i wanted to know how to replace the wiper blades? I have searched online and the forums and have come up empty handed. I tried the old hit the wiper stalk then shut the car off when they are mid way but they still go down.
Thank You

I just replaced the rubber blades themselves, and kept the metalwork intact. It took 5 minurtes each. I got the blades from the Jag dealer. They were $20 a pair.

Thank you for your quick response but i did not just buy inserts I have already bought new blades. The wipers on there do not look OEM so I'm assuming they have been replaced, I just need to know how to get them to the position in which I can take them off and replace them.

My local dealership installed blade inserts for free of charge.

They are just like normal wiper blades with two differences, the arms do not fold out away from the screen so they are a little fiddly but take them off the same as normal blades, the clip that holds the wiper to the arm is also the washer jets so you will need to remove the clip/washer jet from the wiper and attach it to your new wipers.

When I change blades on an X350 I replace just the refils and not the entire arm so I can preserve the washer jets that are integral to the arms. I get the refils from any parts store, they are Ancos N-24R and N-19R. These come two to the package and are only about $5 a package. So for $10 you'll have two complete changes. Based on how much you use the wipers, that could last you the life of the car.

The question is how is the clip/washer removed from the old wipers? It looks like it is riveted to the wiper assembly, and I don't see any way to get it off.

Well unless you have different wiper blades to me, then they are just the normal pivot type (i.e. that clip on and rotate on a bar) and has a jet on the side. So no rivets and you can remove the adapter by pushing it out with a flat bladed screwdriver or similar. If you send a picture I can say if they are the same or not.
