Radiator Fan used replacement question

Radiator Fan used replacement question
I have always felt the fan on my 2008 xj8 was rather noisey. I currently have 140k miles on it and thought replacing may quiet things down. I ordered a lower mile second used fan and upon inspection I'm wondering if the fan is just naturally a bit noisey. When I spin the fan in the car vs. The used one I bought there is no noticeable noise difference but I will say the fan in the car spins for a much longer time when spun by hand. Would that indicate the bearings are much more worn? Before I attempt swapping them out any insights would be appreciated. A side not the used fan they sent me has the plug cut off which I was not aware so before I splice wires I want to be sure it is worth it.

I would rather say that if the fan in your car car spins for a longer tine than the one you bought used, then the bearings of the fan in your car are in a much better condition than the ones in the one you bought.
Worn bearings normally can have play, can be noisier than new ones and can spin less freely than bearings in good condtion.
What you should also check is the condition of the electric motor of the fan.
Best regards,
Thomas
