Default Radio is on but no sound

2004 Vanden Plas. Radio is on but no sound. CD player shows a disc playing but no sound. I removed the left C pillar trim panel were the antennas are and I figure I disturbed some wires but I don't see anything obvious. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

It is likely some sort of interruption in the fibre optic ring. I would re-seat the fibre optic links, probably starting in the trunk area since it is more accessible. Just carefully unplug each connector and plug it back in. I had a similar situation where things weren't working on a really cold day here. Symptoms were radio on but no sound, setup no longer shows the subwoofer available, nav system doesn't work (because it can't see the nav disk), phone module not connected error (for 2008 and above). For me, I got lucky, and restarting the car cured the issue.

I would occasionally lose audio but a restart would fix it. I replaced the battery as it was a cheap nasty one the p.o. put on and it died very quickly. No had any trouble since.

I think there is a way you can get the audio equipment to do a check and it will let you know if stuff is communicating ok. I cannot remember how but it was done from the screen.

Try switching the audio system off (by pressing the volume control) and the switching it back on on again ... while the engine's running (so the generator's giving full voltage).

Sounds like the Premium Sound Amp is dead?

I can pull the AMP out. The 350 platform is Jag , Lincoln LS and T-Birds. Are the sound systems all the same or similar? I am thinking any decent auto radio shop could test the AMP or just repair the whole thing.

Default Radio works now

Radio works now. I went to junkyard and got a fiber optic loop. By passed fiber optic connector into the CDC.

The CDC has no power. There is a 3 wire connector into the CDC. It
is not obvious (to me) how to remove it. Anybody know how
to release it?

Update, short story is 3 of us were working on the car and someone removed the CDC fuse and put it back into an empty slot. All fixed now.

Any component in the D2B network has to receive and then transmit a 'blink' signal or the system 'crashes'.
