Default Random alarm going off

My alarm has gone off about 4 times in the two months I've had the car, for no reason i can determine; just sitting in the house and I start laughing because some neighbor has opened their car wrong and triggered the alarm. Wait a minute, that sounds awfully close... I look outside and the Jag is flashing and honking. Hit unlock in the remote and it shuts up.

Thing is, it did it TWICE just today, about an hour apart from each other.

Is there any way to read something that will tell me what triggered it, i.e. which door, the trunk, whatever? I kind of suspect the hood, because one time I got a "Bonnet Open" message on the dash while driving, and of course it wasn't, it was firmly latched. I'll be looking onto that, but I'd like to confirm if possible that the bonnet (hood here in 'Merica) was the culprit. I have an LR-II, but I didn't see anything anywhere about the anti-theft.

There is a switch tied to the bonnet that is prone to failure. You can replace the switch or connect a wire to the electrical harness side rendering it "closed"...

The switch is under one of the bonnet latches ie the one with an electrical wire leading to it.

The switch can get contaminated with oil from the latch.

I think there is a LAST ALARM ACTIVATION in the setup and configuration section of WDS/IDS/SDD but you would need dealer lever diagnostics.

Find someone with the reader so you will have a better chance of finding the faulty input?

So the switch is normally closed, keeping a ground on the wire, ground disappears when the hood opens?
