Rear parcel shelf and sub removal

Is there an easier way to get the old subs out of the rear parcel shelf? Any tricks from your experience?
JTIS says remove rear seat cushions, then rear seat backs, then C-pillars, then all the finishers for the seat belts and child seat latches before removal of the shelf itself, which looks like its only snapped in place, like most of the other parts on this car.
I only want enough room to unplug and remove the little subs.

with all the 'extra' electrical and wiring from the rear ent system, I'd like to be as cautious as possible.

If you are still unable to remove the seats and associated equipment, perhaps tomorrow afternoon, I can do it to my xj. I will take photos of all required steps and component locations. I can post em on here. Let me know. As mentioned above, the most difficult part is removing the bottom part of the seat via the triangular latches under it. There are four latches and they are difficult to reach and manipulate with your hand.
