Rear park sensors - argh

Rear park sensors - argh
So when I first got my car the rear park sensors worked off and on, but more often they worked. The front sensors always work without issue.
The problem is that lately the rear sensors never work. Ultimately it has led to a problem today when I bumped into a truck and now have a scratch on the bumper.
Enough is enough, I need to get the sensors working. The symptom is this - anytime I start the car and put the car in reverse I get a solid beep for about 4-5 seconds meaning the system has a problem and is disabled, and the sensors never alert me.
I made sure the sensors are cleaned off. What can I do now aside from remove the bumper and replace them all?

There's a simple test to see if it is just one sensor that is causing the problem. If I recall correctly, the procedure goes like this:
Park the car on a level surface;
Chock the fore and aft sides of one tire so the car can't roll on its own;
Turn the key to Position II (ON) but do not start the engine;
Depress the brake pedal and shift the transmission to Reverse;
If you can engage the Electronic Parking Brake, do so. (I can't remember if you can engage it with the transmission in Reverse);
Carefully release the brake and ensure the car does not move;
Exit the car and move to the rear bumper;
Place an ear next to each parking sensor. Working sensors will make a faint clicking sound. A non-working sensor will be silent.
Cheers,
Don

Hmmm... curious.
Our car gives the long beep when I put it in reverse, but I can hear all the sensors click except one. Our car does not disable the other rear sensors despite the inoperative sensor.
You might check the electrical connector at the Parking Aid Module for looseness or corrosion. The module appears to be in the trunk according to the diagram on pdf page 28 in the 2006 Electrical Guide, which you can download here:

Another thing worth doing would be to clean the ground point used by the Parking Aid System (PAS). It is labeled G29 and is located in the rear left corner of the trunk (see the diagram on pdf page 26 of the Guide).
The Parking Aid System circuit schematic is shown on pdf page 173 of the Guide.
Hopefully another member will reply with some helpful info.

Just an update, when I was listening for the noise from the sensors earlier today, the car was outside, and I don't think I put my ear close enough to them either. I just checked again tonight with the car in the garage and it was really quiet, and I could hear three out of the four sensors clicking. So thanks for your help, it looks like I have one bad sensor, so I will look into replacing that next.
