i had a lot of time at work the other night and had the movie "full metal jacket" ready in the dvd. as my coworker and myself climbed in the back seat with our snacks from the corner store to only find that the drivers side was working. the passenger side comes on but no picture is displayed. wth! what do i need to do?

 

I've searched other threads about how people can acesss options from the touchscreen but I can't. I think it's a setting but my mind is empty after trying.

 

My right screen stopped working when my grandkids pulled on the headrest, something to do with the wiring?

 

It is not a touchscreen. There are buttons under the screen.

When did it last work?

Have you gone through the instructions carefully, twice, for both keft and right screen settings?

 

ya i dont know what i was thinking i had a brain fart, but yes when i realised the hard buttons i went into the settings and it changed nothing...

 

i have a feeling if it is wiring its from the dvd player itself to the monitor, but the screen stills powers up but nothing comes on.

Do you mean that you have got the instructions, and went through them step by step for each screen? It is not very intuitive. One of mine came out black and white, it turned out to be because the colour settings on that side were turned all the way down, so check your brilliance setting, for example.

 

oh, i have got the booklet out. sorry for posting that earlier. yes i did check the screen brightness. also i should mention that i was looking through my rear window while popping in a dvd, the driver side shown 'loading" but nothing on the passenger side screen. i guess my next step is going to a car audio place near my house...

 

Just a thought Josh, have you checked that all wiring connectors are fully connected under the seat. You could also try disconnecting and then reconnecting.

It might just work, you never know.

I did check the connections but now I know it's something else. I read on another thread that disconnecting the battery worked for the same issue I have, so I done the same. Now neither of my screens show a picture. They both read "stand by am 530." When selecting the right or left side on the control pack.

 

I did it! I fixed it! Both all by sheer luck lol.

well after i disconnected my battery and plugged it all back in neither screen worked. both monitors were blank and control pack read "stanby" for the left and right screen. separately for both sides: left and right i pushed down with the view button while holding down the right or left button at the same time for a few seconds. then the screens went blue with yellow writing "DVD IS NOT IN PROPER FORMAT" or something of that nature. after that i pushed the View key down for eight seconds or so while the button on the top is red for both left and right speaker sides. then both screens rolled an few times and the both screens came on with picture and sound.

 

Well, don't touch it!

 

oh i don't plan on it! nor will i have 8 year olds sitting in my car again allowed to push buttons!

 

IIRC there is a control on the drivers (front) touchscreen to disable the rear AV control panel.
