I am refreshing my rear subframe, blast, powdercoat new bushes the job lot. I have stripped the donor frame and its off to be blasted and i have a hurdle,
The big bushes i have but the two on the back member that are not numbered i cant find, they have the number 2R83-4B470-AC on the rubber, i believe this to be a ford number? i get no results on google.
In the the picture you provide , # 3 is the front bush of the rear frame and there are 2 required, part no is C2C34189 . #2 is the rear bush and 2 are required, part no. is C2C31256.
These bushes are also used for the 2003-2008 S Type and also Lincoln LS rear frame. There is lots of information on the S Type forum if you search. The bushes were not available from Ford dealers you were required to buy the whole rear frame. (In Canada anyway)

No I must have confused you ---the bushes are available separately in Canada----I know because I bought 2 of each to repair a a Lincoln LS. I have just checked the parts at my local Jaguar dealer and it turns out there are different part numbers depending on the year of your car. BUT both front bushes have same part no and both rear bushes are same part no. so the dealer is bull shitting you. The price of the bushes range from $135 Can to $285 Can.
You can check my dealer's website your self at https://jaguar.lakeridgeparts.com

Yes they do---the part number are clearly marked for LEFT and RIGHT and BACK and FRONT as in 4 bushes total. Two at the FRONT of the REAR FRAME and two at the rear of the REAR FRAME. SO in both cases the the left and right positions are the SAME part no. Believe me I have actually fitted these bushes to an actual rear subframe. There are 4 bushes but only 2 part numbers. Just read the writing by each part number!
In your picture, post #1, there are no bushes shown on the LEFT side of the rear subframe, but when you look for the part numbers for item2 and item 3 ,the parts catalogue clearly shows the part number as applying to left and right front, or left and right rear of the rear sub frame.
We are at cross purposes, the four bushes in two pairs i have, but there are another two bushes in the subframe,in the center of the rear section i believe they fasten to the differential. i will try and do a drawing with arrows.

Yes well that is called a rear differential insulator, and the part number is XR813260 . You can find that in the S-Type parts catalogue on the Differential Assembly page. There are 2 of those with the same part no.
Yes that is a rare part and apparently is not replaced very often. In fact all of them I have looked at seem to be fine and I just reused them. Do you have a reason to replace them? I do see yours is cracked badly and I would for sure replace that one! Any noises? I just don't know what kind of symptoms to expect when these bushing start to give out?
Your right the pictures and diagrams leave a lot to be desired and I think we just don't have a good picture of the side facing out that's in your picture?
This is the back side that's normally not visible so it's not much help identifying the bushing.
Here is the Jaguar diagram and again it's tough to determine what we are looking at but it's definitely the right bushing in the right spot on the rear end. So I think you will just need to order #13 and see? Part #XR813260
Since we don't have a good answer for you yet if someone does get the bushing can you please report back with how it works?

I didn't even know they needed replacing. It's only done 61K miles but 6 of the subframe bushes are torn, the engine mounts had given out and the transmission mount plus the differential idolators. There's also a forward differential bush but it appears to be in good order. The 4 subframe bushes were no issue locating, there's even aftermarket available but the numbers stamped on the other 2 are the challenge. I can look at both sides of the bushes but as I said, they do not match your picture at all.

The bushes are all available from Jaguar in the UK, the big ones are two pairs arranged front and rear, the other pair are not available separately for the XJ but are available separately for the S type as Six Rotors posted about with the part number. These are the diff isolation bushes numbered 13 in the exploded diagram above. Bush number 9 is also available.
