Rear suspension part number confirmation
#21
Beware -- I just got back from the alignment shop and they told me they could not adjust the caster. I did a quick search and found that it can be adjusted.
I recommend anyone going for an alignment to print pages 1-11 of the 998 pdf file found on the sticky for the Chassis. It gives the instructions.
I will have to go back and have them adjust. Regardless, the car drives wonderful now.
My 2004 is riding on springs with new front and rear suspension wear components plus new tires. A bit harsher than with the air set up, but for peace of mind I am happy so far with the change. It has been a long journey getting to this point but the improvement is amazing.
As to what lower arms fit (without modifications) - look at my third post on this thread as it gives the VIN range. It appears outside the range the lower arm needs to be slightly enlarged.

Unpleasant knowledge about the lower rear arms ordered, both the Moog & AC Delco professionals.
Both came with different part numbers, printed on the box, they matched the order numbers.
Both sets of parts have different numbers on them, than on the box.
But the numbers on the parts themselves, are the same
Looks like both brands are made at the same place..
But by another manufacturer entirely, that is in China of course.

Sorry, no pictures still living in the last century in a lot of ways, & always short on cash.
Only got into the computer initially, was for old motorcycle parts, available from all over the world.
The whole thing is both Moog, & Delco are or WERE both American company's, W T F happened????????????????
They both subbed their parts out, to the same mfg in China.
The parts look fine, price was too, the boxes are beat up a bit, from their handling over the years.
The numbers on the boxes matches, those on the receipt's, but those on the parts are different.
The numbers ot the parts, are as follows, right, passenger's side is EXCK951, left, drivers side is EXCK1952.
Numbers are an easy to see, a sticker on the plastic bag their wrapped in.
But the numbers on the part it self, are small, & not all that easy to see.
Sad state of affairs is all, when almost everything is made in China, & nobody knows how to fix anything, anymore.

They may be fine. I have unused many Chinese parts that in my opinion are better than the OEM.
Audi A8 Meyle rotors. OEM go a crazy 60,000 miles. The Meyle are over 30,000 and look new. OEM had a 1/4” lip and almost worn through at 69,000. Were a 1/4 the price of OEM.
XJR AC Delco rotors. Big beefy parts. Were a third of the OEM.
Purchased some crap too. The 100.00 PVC valve. Bought a Vaicco. Put the old one back on. Through the Vaico in the trash.
I was hoping one of your arm sets was Lemforder. They are not perfect either. These Jaguar arms fall apart due to rubber rot.
The same brand for Audi and BMW outlast the car. My 2005 A8, made in 2004, does not have a crack in any of the original boots. Same with wife’s 2007 BMW. All new everything on the XJR.
