Default Rear Window Motor

All, another issue came up today.

As the body shop was reassembling the car, they discovered that the right rear window is not operating properly. The technician, programmed the other three windows to operate correctly, but couldnt get the right rear window to work. He transferred the wiring from the left to right, and believes he has isolated the problem to the window motor. Although he called this part the window regulator (a term which I had not heard). Since the doors are apart, now would be the time to put a new motor in.

I've been looking for the part but don't seem to be able to find it.

Can anyone shed any more light on this?

I looked in the parts list (available in our downloads section) and found this:

However, searching the internet for jaguar part C2C004435-6 yielded no help.

If Jaguar the part is no longer available, does anyone know of an aftermarket solution?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

google jaguar x350 window motor and you will be inundated!

https://www.google.com.au/search?q=j...hrome&ie=UTF-8

Failed window motors are not common on this Jag.

Very few reported on here anyway

Cheers

Thanks for the tip. I'll see what I can find. The tech said that it is working intermittently. But is very hard to close.

I see a few on eBay. Some with the motor and others that the seller is calling the regulator, but has no motor attached.

I see that i can get a complete one from England for about $150 shipped, but it doesn't say if it is for the long or short wheel base version of the car.

Does anyone have any experience changing out this part?

I have a motor and regulator if you want it. Pulled it from my door when i was side speed and got a whole replacement door from wreckers.

was a little tricky getting while assembly out and glass. I think i had to power it up to position it correctly.
Mines from the left, xjr you could try the motor at least.
California. Pm if interested.

All,

Does anyone know if the motors are interchangeable from side to side? I'm guessing that the regulators (which to me look like the mechanisms that move the glass) are different. They are probably mirror images of one another. But the motors?

Pure speculation here, but it seems to me that the smart thing, from a manufacturer point of view, would be to use the same motor for all four windows and just change the mechanism. What do you think?

I have just checked my spare regulators, RF, RR and LR, and the motors appear to be "handed". The regulators are "handed for sure. The RF and RR motors are both Bosch 0 130 821 946 and the LR is Bosch 0 130 821 947. I have a spare LF motor only and it has the same motor number.

When for sale they are always described RF RR etc.

I am guessing a RF wwould fit a RR and LF a LR.

Also an used LF would be a lot more used than a RF!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

A huge thank you to dsetter for offering to send me a left motor and sending me pictures of it. This really is the best forum on the web.

I went to the body shop just now and showed them the photos. They think that the left motor will not fit in the right door.

I checked on eBay, and found a right rear regulator and motor from an XJ8 for $35 shipped. Luckily the seller was only 70 miles from me, so hopefully I'll have the part tomorrow.

I'll let you know what happens.

Problem Fixed! Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

The new (used) right rear window regulator and motor were installed and the window is working perfectly.

Update from the body shop is that the car should be ready to pick up on Wednesday. I cant wait to get it back, it's been four months already.
