Default recent ongoing issues

Hi all , I have a few ongoing problems with my car and would be grateful for any assistance.

1. Blower not working - no air. The control panel has power and all fuses are okay. I have read that the issue could be either the "blower control module" or the "climate control module". Can this issue be resolved by a Tech resetting on a computer ?

2.Following advisory notice was issued in December 2011 :

Nearside & Offside front lower shock absorber has a slightly worn rubber
bush.

Offside rear Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a ball joint

Offside inner rear lower suspension arm has slight play in a pin bush.

What parts do I need to repair, and if possible could you advise on cost ?

3. Rear heated window not working - checked fuse, its okay ?
4. Bonnet ( Hood ) release handle not opening bonnet.

I have removed the cable from the release lever and managed to
open the bonnet. ( the cable is not broken ). I,ve tried to refit the
metal ball back into the release lever but cannot get enough tension.
I,ve left the cable exposed meantime.

You need:

1. New front air spring mounting bushes fitted into the lower straight wishbone arms. Not sure how difficult it is to swap out on this one, it may be possible in situ with special tool. Air spring has a forked lower end which wraps onto the bush and is then bolted up. Bushes are cheap at around £20.

2. New anti-roll-bar link. This has a ball joint at each end. Links are not repairable with new ball joints. Cost around £30

3. A new lower suspension arm (which has three bushes), one of which has failed in your case, OR a new bush to go into your existing arm. Repair of these wishbones is difficult unless a press is available, and the correct mandrel to press out old bush and press in new one. Jaguar do not supply bushes separately for 'safety' reasons. New arms are available on the internet for around £200-250. Jaguar prices are much, much more, although I am told they have recently decided to breathe out a bit and reduce the price of these parts. Same part as found on S-Type, XF, new XJ (I think), and maybe on some US Fords and Lincolns.

3. Rear heated window not working - checked fuse, its okay ?
4. Bonnet ( Hood ) release handle not opening bonnet.
A heated rear screen is likely to prove quite expensive. I assume pressing the button on the dash causes the light on the switch to illuminate, but no heating to occur. Note that there is a timer on this which switches the screen heater off after about 15 minutes, so it is not totally simple.

The bonnet release cable is a poor design as it gets exposed to salt and damp, and rusts up. It is not worth trying to lubricate it. I replaced mine. Cost about £30

Further to my last reply, the heated mirrors come on at the same time as the rear screen, they are not separate. Do you get heating at the mirrors ? If so, it would indicate screen element failure, if not, there is a supply problem.

Hi,
no the details that I have listed are an advisory notice that I was issued with at the time of my M.O.T. It was not issued by Jaguar.

Best regards
Stuart Currie.

Hi Fraser sorry for the delay with my reply, yes the heated mirrors appear to be working fine. Rear heated screen still not working

Looks like it's time to track down the presence of volts and wiring continuity with an AVO meter.
